Board Of Directors 2009 - 2011

Beverly B. Dobson
President
The President is the official spokesperson of the organization at informational meetings, in public awareness activities and fundraising events. The President presides at meetings of the Board of Directors. The President prepares correspondence. The President assists with the Peer Counseling Program. The President coordinates all chapter activities in the Baltimore area, responds to requests for NF materials, represents the Chapter at various conferences, schools and health fairs and serves as consultant on adoption. Ms. Dobson is a substitute pre-school teacher assistant in Baltimore County.

Brenda F. Duffy
Immediate Past President
The Immediate Past President represents the chapter at various functions and serves as a consultant to the Board of Directors and in education to the Chapter. She continues to assist with the Peer Counseling Program. Ms. Duffy is employed as a special education teacher in Fairfax County, VA.

Peter Childs
Vice-President
The Vice President presides over meetings and events in the absence of the Chapter President. Mr. Childs assists with public awareness and fundraising activities. He is employed at the main Post Office in Washington, DC.

David Dobson
Secretary
The Secretary takes minutes of all Board, Executive Committee and informal meetings held by NF- Mid-Atlantic. The Secretary signs legal documents when specified. The Secretary represents the Chapter and Neurofibromatosis at various health organization meetings and conferences and participates in the Peer Counseling Program, and in public awareness and fundraising opportunities. Mr. Dobson conducts medical surveys for HealthStream in Laurel, MD.

Penny W. Freeman
Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees maintenance of the financial records, payment of bills, check writing and signs official documents when specified. Ms. Freeman is employed by Hospice of the Chesapeake, Annapolis, MD.

Members-at-Large


Diane Bark
Ms. Bark’s main focus will be raising funds, public awareness and peer counseling. Ms. Bark is the owner of DNB Financial Services, a financial advisory company in Baltimore, MD.

Dickson Kendrick
Mr. Kendrick assists with public awareness, fundraising activities and camp activities. Mr. Kendrick is presently employed as a Senior Project manager at HMS Host in Bethesda, MD.

Megan Leaf
Ms. Leaf will be working on fundraising, public awareness and peer counseling. She has earned her BS in human development and her MA in education and is a teacher’s aide at Roland Park Elementary Middle School in Baltimore, MD.

Mary Ann Wilson
Ms. Wilson serves as the volunteer Chapter Program Director who assures the necessary activities are done to maintain a stable and productive organization. She is often the first person contacted when information about NF and the organization is sought. The Director is a peer counselor, is active in public awareness and fundraising activities, and represents neurofibromatosis in health care coalitions. Ms. Wilson is a founder of the organization in 1979.
