A Review for Individuals with NF and Their Families
on the Progress and New Clinical Investigations at
Children’s National Medical Center

The meeting is designed to update individuals with
NF-1, their families and allied medical personnel.
There is no cost for the meeting, but registration is
required. A box lunch will be provided, but no child-
care. Parking is in the building for a fee.
Topics include the NF Program at Children’s; plex-
iform neurofibromas; malignant peripheral nerve
sheath tumors; neuro-imaging; optic gliomas; neu-
rocognitive issues; and NF1 clinical variations. Dr.
Ludwein Messiaen from the University of Alabama-
Birmingham will discuss the status of molecular
genetic testing for NF-1 and what the results mean.
